Staging Areas
Key areas for the Little Lake Cleanup project were our staging areas.
Our primary staging area (or sediment processing area) was located just south of the Highway 10/441 bridge and east of N. Lake Street in the Town of Menasha. The staging area was used primarily during the dredging, dewatering and hauling portions of the projects, which have been completed.
Beginning in 2008 and into 2009, our project primarily operated from the second staging area, located on Butte des Morts Beach Road. That staging area was used as our in-water work progressed north to minimize the amount of pipeline that was required on the lake.

See descriptions and map below for more detail on each staging area.
Staging Area 1 - N. Lake Street
Throughout most of the cleanup effort, the project operated with the main staging area on N. Lake Street, which consisted of a water treatment building; several boat docks; the lined, gravel dewatering pad to hold the geotextile tubes and collect the water for treatment; on-shore equipment; gravel and sand supplies; and a project observation deck.

Staging Area 2 - Butte des Morts Beach Road
In 2008, a second staging area was put into operation to service equipment operating in the northern portions of the lake. This staging area was located on Butte des Morts Beach Road and housed several of the project's pumps, pipelines and sand and gravel supplies used for the placement of sand covers and armored caps. The land for that staging area was leased for two years from Wild Ones Natural Landscapers.
